MMG is home to 41 faculty members and an additional
27 faculty members with secondary appointments.
Grant Support
      MMG is supported by 51 research grants from the National Institutes of Health, with additional
support from the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation,
the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Students and Postdocs
      MMG provides training to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to prepare for careers
Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics in a supportive and collaborative work environment. The MMG
department is currently home to approximately 40 graduate students and 50 postdoctoral fellows.
Location
      The MMG department is located on the 11th and 12th floors of the Biomedical Science Tower. The

Hillman Cancer Center and the
Center for Vaccine Research.
Research
      The research interests of the MMG faculty can be grouped into 8 main focus areas.
      The MMG faculty actively participate in the teaching of medical students and graduate students.
MMG faculty are the course directors for the Fuel Metabolism and Medical Microbiology courses in the Medical School
curriculum. The Program Directors of two of the six programs in the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program
are MMG faculty members.
