The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is the largest basic science department at The University of Pittsburgh. MMG is comprised of over 40 fulltime faculty in areas of research such as Advanced Biochemistry, Gene Therapy, Immunology, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Medicine, Molecular Pathogenesis, and Virology. Our affiliation with the School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has made us an attractive place to conduct research and training. We have approximately 150 Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, Research Associates, and staff from around the world.
