Interdiciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is one of many departments at the University of Pittsburgh that participate in the School of Medicine’s Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program. This program offers graduate students an interdisciplinary core program and the opportunity to choose among nine doctoral degree granting programs for advanced research and recruitment.

MMG plays an integral role in the training and mentoring of these graduate students, and has over thirty faculty members actively involved in one or more programs. Two specific programs, “Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics” and “Molecular Virology and Microbiology”, are also directed by MGB faculty members Drs. Martin Schmidt and Michael Parniak respectively.

Please visit the School of Medicine’s Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program website for additional information.
