Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)

SURP provides stimulating and rewarding research opportunities for undergraduates considering graduate education in biomedical research.

The program is administered by the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program (IBGP) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The School of Medicine provides an exceptional environment for students to gain research experience under the guidance of internationally recognized scientists.

The SURP faculty includes over 100 active members in the IBGP. You may choose a faculty scientist from one of the following programs in which to conduct a SURP research project. All students receive a competitive stipend of $3,500 for the ten-week program. Additional funding for housing and travel may also be available.

Applications and admissions to the SURP program are handled online by the Graduate Studies Office. Apply Here.
