Why I Chose Pitt

I love science. A lot of wonderful science goes on here. That’s why I’m here.

Following his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine, Collin will be starting a Post Doc Fellowship at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, under the direction of Robert Wilkinson, studying HIV/TB co-infection immunology.

HIV-1/mycobacterium tuberculosis coinfection immunology: how does HIV-1 exacerbate tuberculosis? Infect. Immun. 79: 1407-1417. |  View Abstract

Simian immunodeficiency virus-induced changes in T cell cytokine responses in cynomolgus macaques with latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection are associated with timing of reactivation. J Immunol. 186: 3527-3537. |  View Abstract

Reactivation of latent tuberculosis in cynomolgus macaques infected with SIV is associated with early peripheral T cell depletion and not virus load. PLoS One. 5: e9611. |  View Abstract
