Why did you choose the University of Pittsburgh?
A major factor in choosing the University of Pittsburgh was the city- the cosmopolitan culture, museums and conservatories, the food scene, I loved it all. Pittsburgh reminded me of my hometown and after 5 years in Arkansas I was excited to move to a more exciting city. I have been here for 5 years now, and despite switching labs, I have chosen to remain at UPitt because I enjoy working here.

Research Interests
I am currently using MHV68 infection model to examine the roles and mechanisms of regulation of infection, latency and replication of gammaherpesviruses by arginine sensor CASTOR1 and mTORC1 pathway. I am also delineating the role of CASTOR1 in immune response and viral cancers.
